Casey Weldon’s “Tropefiend” at Spoke Art.
Currently showing at Spoke Art in San Francisco, California is (one of my personally favorite artists) Casey Weldon’s solo show “Tropefiend.” The show delves into modern relationships with nature and Casey explores those themes in incredibly unique ways such as is often seen in “Tropefiend” via natural bioluminescence or sparkling. Casey explains: “I think on one hand, the color palette I work with has been gradually getting darker, and I was getting really into recreating the glowing and reflecting colors of bright lights. The subject matter has been more about dying man made media, like television, radio, and print, and having them lost in the overgrowth of the constant of nature. It’s more natural than magical. Maybe supernatural.” “Tropefiend” is on display at Spoke Art until June 27th.
